I think the first thing you do with interns is you set expectations.

So many companies get interns and don’t have a system. They say “What are we going to do with them when they get here? Well give them to the finance guy, see if they can do spreadsheets. Give them to the marketing person they have you go do copies.”

I think interns are valuable and I think they expect valuable work and I think it’s up to us as business people .. that’s the kind of the community service aspect of an internship I believe for business people, give them valuable work, help them to learn something. They are not slowing you down, students are smart
