ANNOUNNCING: Interview Your Heroes is open for registration here.

Every conversation you have is an opportunity…

Whether it’s with one of your business heroes, an investor, or even a new friend.

However, most of us miss the opportunity in front of us, and we don’t even know it. I know, because I did this for years.

For instance, one time I was hosting a get together. One guy was late, and he came in apologizing: “I’m sorry…everything takes so much longer now that I’m getting a divorce.”

He had to get his kids ready by himself and drop them off with the sitter, so it took him longer to get on the road now.

“And the traffic was terrible…” he continued.

And you know what?

Everyone quickly jumped in to talk about the traffic. No one addressed the divorce.

Would YOU?

It’s totally normal not to want to talk about it. A subject like divorce is uncomfortable, and it’s natural to want to eliminate the discomfort for everyone and talk about something safer, like traffic.

But the truth is, he brought up the divorce because he was desperate to talk about it.

And ignoring the “d-word” was a missed opportunity to have a deeper, more meaningful conversation with him.

Now that’s just ONE example of a missed opportunity…

There are so many more (I’ve made all of these mistakes myself, btw).

And if you’ve been following my recent emails, than you know that yesterday I announced that I’m reopening my Interview Your Heroes (IYH) course.

In this course, you’ll learn more of these subtle conversation techniques that can help you maximize every conversation (i.e. opportunity) that comes your way, whether you want to start a podcast or you just want to be a better conversationalist.

You can get the details about the course here.

Right now, I’d rather let you hear directly from past students of IYH about the results you can get…

Get your podcast up and running:

“[IYH] was the roadmap I used to get my podcast up and running. I’ve just recorded my 20th episode…I’m averaging about 100 downloads per episode plus 20 video views each. I was happy with the results and the info in the course. I follow Andrew’s checklist approach (without it, I’d probably waste a lot more time).”–Michael Bell

“I absolutely loved it. I have done about 50 interviews. My podcast “Breaking the Borders” is active on iTunes. I’m getting 300 downloads per episode, and I just crossed 7k downloads in all.”–Rohit Gandrakota

Position yourself as an authority in your market:

“Following IYH, I launched an interview-based podcast in a very targeted niche that has quickly enabled me to build a following and position myself as an authority within my industry, and has led to significant monetization opportunities. I would not have taken the leap without what I learned in IYH. I refer back to the course often, and I know that there is a lot more I can do with the information Andrew shared.”–Phil Ideson

Better relationship-building skills for your business (even if you don’t want to start a podcast):

“The most frustrating part of almost every online course I’ve taken is you can tell the author holds back the secrets. Andrew tells you exactly how he does what he does so that you can do it, too. I also found that the course was not only useful for starting a podcast, but for for interviewing skills in any profession. If you ever want to interview anyone for your business website, this is a valuable resource…The people and relationship building skills are valuable in themselves.”–J. Eric Bork

Interview Your Heroes is open for registration right now, but only until June 1 at midnight (PT). I don’t open this course very often, so check it out before it closes, right here.
