Got questions? Ideas? Feedback? Frustration?
Let’s discuss them below.
I was having trouble with the videos freezing up occasionally — and then I finally got to page 10 or 11 and it wouldn’t load, so I refreshed the page and it sent me back to the beginning. The content that I was able to view was interesting. However, it is frustrating that I lost my place in the course and have to start over.
I was a little confused by the first video, but now I noticed that there are additional videos and I see you are looking for feedback on them.
None of the videos are loading for me, except a part of the first one.
I got all these straight away and am loving the formet, the short videos and chat through. I feel as if I am in the room with them.
the second page isn’t working for me…
same here, video not loading
Just ended and so amazed and ready. I have never come across a more helpful video seminar. I have things TO DO.
No I am not on any kick back – just someone who has been to lots of networking events which promise much but fail to deliver. Can I suggest that the next video series tackle step by step guide to launching your start up.eg. idea, form company, branding, create website etc ie what comes first.
Great course like all other courses you offer in the VIP section! Like the concept you are trying to do but maybe less chunks? you could probably group different headings to give viewers more continuity. Having questions is good, makes you think and become more interactive with the ideas that are being shared
I hadn’t thought of that.
What about the length? If I group 2 or 3 points into a single video, would the video be too long for you?
I’m thinking of doing something on how to find the right idea.
I hadn’t thought of branding and the other ideas you had. Thanks.
Thanks. I’d love to find a way for people to talk within the session too. But I can’t think of a way to do that.
Could you try refreshing? If that doesn’t work, I’m going to contact Wistia about this.
That’s so freakin’ frustrating. I wonder why. Can I ask Wistia’s test support to contact you with question? I can’t figure out what’s going on.
I see. I’m hearing that it’s an issue. I’ll find a way to make it clearer right now.
I’m so sorry about that. That stinks.
If anyone can’t see it, add your name here and I’ll find a way to send it to you.
Could be an idea become your passion?
Let me know if it’s still not clear enough.
ideas come out of your inner passions…
Oh man. I was over half way through and had to refresh a broken page.
Went back to page 1. :(
I hope I can remember my answers! Here goes round two…
Andrew, if this is the format you are going with, could you please have a link where we can jump or get back to the section we were viewing? Josh Kaufman in his PMBA crash course does it well, in giving a table of contents at the begining so that if your connection stops you don’t have to start all over again. This would also help in going back to a section to review the ideas
I also got to page 10 or 11? before the videos no longer responded (on my phone, 3G connection). I refreshed my browser and now I’m back to page 1. The content was pretty good. Can you add a TOC or other way to jump forward without answering with bogus answers? I lost my motivation to answer sincerely when I lost my progress, but I’d still like to watch the remaining content. Thanks, Andrew!
Andrew, got to the end…so is this an excerpt from a longer master class that you made with Chris or is it the same one?
Hi, I got to 10/17 and then I didn’t get another screen. :( Was hoping to get back to the past window but never did. Good luck. Looking forward to hearing more…
From my computers the next video does not populate. I can go to my premium account and watch this by clicking the individual sections. I have yet to finish the course but so far that works. I think you should have small playable thumbnails like how Youtube show on Facebook but in a horizontal row on the screen. Much like the idea of keeping it above the fold. The thumbnail could be labeled with the section it relates to. If you are still in Santa Monica, (I thought that you moved to the east coast), then I would love to take you to lunch. I am very interested in teaching the masses, especially about this subject.
By the way, Jason Calacanis had his TWIStartups on Justintv and it had a live comment site on the side I am not quite sure if the comments where members only or not but you might want to check it out, if you haven’t already.
Had problems with it freezing if I paused the video. Worked fine if I didn’t hit pause but I like to stop it to see what is on the screen better or take notes. Had to restart from the beginning a few times so I just passed up the ones I had already commented on.
Forgot to mention–GREAT content as always. So very very helpful. Now I just need to take ACTION! So here it is…I’ll have a new website AND facebook page within 24 hours. Now I have my work cut out for me.
all the videos played for me .Wistia rocks and I have the slowest internet in a western country.
It seems you’ve had a lot of messages about technical faults so maybe this is covered already. I see nothing below the Start Here arrow except the page footer (social links & Wistia link). Is this where there’s supposed to be a video?
(I’m on Google Chrome on Win 7.)
Second time lucky. This time I’ve got the video and the form beneath it. :-)
NB: I had tried refreshing without luck. This worked trying a while later from the email link again.
I’m having trouble getting the videos to load too… I just get a black box where the video should be.
I think the idea is a great one, encouraging people to take some action on what they are learning — only one challenge being if you aren’t really in the mood to do the writing and just want to listen…. will people just enter random stuff to skip it? Also, it’s not clear if the comments that we’re entering will be public to other users or just sent directly to you — I’d suggest making that clear, or optional — share publicly or just with the Mixergy team.
That stinks Ben. Sorry. I’ll email you a link so you can pick it up where you left off.
Sorry about that. Did it work the second time? I’ll send you a link, just in case it didn’t.
Sorry Ben. I’ll send you a link to all the section.s
Good point. Looks like a need to use something other than Wufoo to do this. Thanks for telling me.
Sorry about that. I’ll send you a better link via email.
Same one. On Fridays, I like to test new approaches with a TINY sectio of the audience.
It’s been over 24 hours. How did it go? Any issues?
arg. Sorry about that Lill. I’m not sure what’s going on with the video player. Thanks for telling me.
What did you think of the way I only showed you a section after you took some kind of action on the previous section?
Man, that’s good to here James. I’m worried about it considering the issues some people had here.
It’s private. Would you rather have them public or private?
Thanks for telling me Paul. I wonder what’s going on. I actually embeded a Wufoo form to make this happen. Even the Wistia videos were inside the Wufoo form.
I would rather have them private for the most part, but it might be interesting to see people’s responses if they wanted to share them public :) If it’s private, knowing it’s private would be great, I assumed it was but wasn’t sure.
BTW — after I received the “shared content” email from you just now, I can see the first video — not sure if that’s related but wanted to put it out there if it helps with troubleshooting. I haven’t had the time to watch and add notes yet so can’t confirm the rest of the videos yet.
Wait. Nathan. Can’t you see ALL the clips?
I thought I sent everyone who commented here a link to all the clips. Plus the ability to download them.
Sorry Andrew, my message was confusing… Yes, I see all the videos at the link you sent me. But what I noticed when going back to the original page — I can now see the first video there properly (where before I was just getting a black box).
Hi Andrew, I like the concept. It makes it very interactive and felt that I actually retained more from the interview as there were questions that further engaged my train of thought with regards to the material presented.
Having a “table of contents” would greatly help next time and ability to review the topics discussed.
Always good stuff from you!
