This is part of the behind-the-scenes section of Mixergy, which I call etc.
One of the best things about interviewing marketing experts like Chris Winfield is that sometimes it launches a friendship and I keep learning from them. Chris, who was one of my first interviewees, spent about an hour with me last month showing me smarter ways to promote Mixergy.
I thought I’d share one of the ideas he suggested because it’s dead simple for you to implement if you’re doing interviews and it’s been helping lead more people to my work.
Chris said that after I publish an interview I should ask the interviewee to tweet out a link to the finished program. He also urged me to make it easier for guests to embed their interviews with a link back to my site.
So here’s the email I send out now after I publish an interview.
Our interview is up on https://mixergy.com
Thanks for doing it. Here’s what you can do next:
1) If you want any changes to the text or your picture, tell me.
2) Could you tweet it out to your followers? This should make tweeting easy.
3) You can post the full video on your site:
If you have any feedback on this experience, I’m always eager to listen and improve my work. Let me know.

– Do you have any suggestions for how I can get more people to listen to my interviews?
– How can I get more of my interviewees to embed the video?
– Is there anything else that I can do to improve my promotion?
I want to help more of my viewers become interview creators. As you can see, it’s a great way to learn and meet smart people like Chris.
I’m trying to put together a list of Frequently Asked Questions about interviewing. So if you’ve considered doing your own interviews and have some questions, email me and I’ll try to include your answer in my FAQ.
