I always ask for feedback, so Red emailed me to suggest that I broaden my scope and target people outside the dot-com space.

He says, “I think there would be a huge demand from a broader non-techy community because your interviews are really clear and would help these guys get up to speed.”

If I aim for everyone, I’ll be meaningful to no one. Here’s why I focus on internet startups:

  1. They’re an audience that’s easy to find online
  2. They’re active online, so they give me good feedback
  3. I’m insanely curious about how to build internet companies
  4. I have friends in the space so it’s easier to get interviews
  5. Internet startups are trendsetters
  6. Internet startups can change the world with little capital
  7. I built a successful internet business, so I have relevant experience
