Check Out What Jason Cronkhite Did After Seeing A Mixergy Interview
on Dec 16, 2009 - 11:07 AM PST
You’ve probably heard me say at the end of my programs that you should contact the people I interview. At the very least, if you learned something, you should thank them. Jason Cronkhite went a step further.
According to his blog, after hearing Mark Magnacca on Mixergy, Jason was so moved that he bought Mark’s book, So What? I’ll let him tell you the rest, in his own words:
I read the book from cover to cover that day – a first for me since I rarely can sit still that long. After I read the book, I popped onto the author’s website to register for his 21-Day Challenge.
Thinking the author might be interested in a few areas where he could improve his marketability and the interactive nature of the website I sent him an email with some of my ideas.
Long story short, Mark hired me to help him with his online marketing strategy for the book and his training company, Insight Development Group.
Have you contacted someone you heard on Mixergy yet? How did it go?
I get emails from fans who’ve had similar experiences with other guests, which is why I keep urging you to do more than just sit back and listen to these programs.
Update: Check out Aaron Lovelace’s comment below. He got together with Matthew Inman.

can't say I contacted anyone yet, I did add a few of them to the twitter feed. I think part of it, is that since I tend to watch the interviews live, if I have a question, I'll just ask it in the feed.

Hey Andrew, I got in touch with Matt Inman here in Seattle thanks to your interview. You mentioned some things during the interview with him that really touched home for me… so I emailed him, and we got together for coffee here in Seattle.
Anyway, I didn't know this at the time, but the reason I decided to learn PHP years ago was because of Matt too. When he first built Mingle2, there was a blog post about how he did it in 62 hours using Cake PHP and I happened across it. Long story short, I ended up firing my Indian web developers and learned to dev myself with great results. Matt and I are friends now, thanks to your Mixergy interview!
Anyway, thanks for such a great site. You are helping people far more than you know. I sent the recent game mechanics interview to a bunch of friends who also found it extremely helpful. I know at least 3 potential interviewees for you too, but I'll have to check to see if they are interested first.

Ha! The only person I've contacted so far is you, Andrew. But I just finished up my first serious 6 months at doing my own marketing, and still feeling a little underwater. Good thing I'm amphibious.

That was a great interview, one of my favorites. I think I still have that So What book on my amazon wishlist. More encouraged to splurge on it now that I know he's a cool guy. Congrats Jason!

Wow. I didn't know that you got together with Matt. I linked to it from the blog post above. Thanks for telling me.

If you're ever moved to say hi or otherwise connect, do it.
Glad you're watching!

Time really is the issue. Now that you have a bit more of it, if you hear anyone who moves you, let 'em know.

I've gotten a lot of compliments on my interview with Mark. His interview was motivating + he brought useful ideas to the conversation. Let me know what you think of the book.

No problem! It turns out we had a mutual acquaintance as well. He's a great guy and is up to some really cool stuff these days. So far, he' only guy I know who lands a top spot on Digg on a near weekly basis.

Hey Andrew, really been enjoying the interviews. Really fun to be able to interact and ask questions during the live interview. I too have thought about getting in contact with some of your guests based on the types of things you've discussed with them.
One suggestion: sometimes when you're doing the live interview on uStream, I have no idea who it is that you're actually interviewing. That happened with the lead-generation guy you interviewed today. Great interview, but I still don't know his name. Would there be a way to keep some sort of sticky status message in uStream with the interviewees name, company, and maybe even Twitter handle up during the interview? Not a requirement, but a suggestion from a regular viewer. Or maybe it's already there and I'm missing it. :)
Hope you're enjoying Buenos Aires, my friend!

Watched that interview for the first time and just ordered the book from Amazon.
Andrew, great to see that your interviewing this type of person, very informative – great stuff. Thanks for all the hard work you must put into these interviews, they are EXTREMELY helpful!
