According to CrunchBase, Owen Byrne was hired by Digg founder Kevin Rose on Elance to create the PHP code behind the original Digg site for a cost of $200. Digg went on to become one of the most successful site in history.

Now that story has been frustrating startups everywhere. It leaves us wondering, “If Owen and Kevin can build a top site for a few hundred bucks, why are we struggling for so long and spending so much money just getting our site launched?!”
